Daily Duties...
And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.
~Colossians 3:23
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Mom has been encouraging us recently with this verse,
no matter what the job:
taking out recycle...
folding laundry...
helping a sibling with something...
taking library books back...
school...
cooking dinner...
gathering trash from the wastebaskets...
raking the lawn...
washing dishes...
mowing the neighbors lawn...
making a bed...
hosing down rugs...
helping paint...
washing the floor...
weeding the driveway...
whatever the job at hand................
"do it as to the Lord and not unto men!"
Blessings to everyone~

A verse for today...
For I know the thoughts that I think
toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
~Jeremiah 29:11
Blessings to you all!

♥ A Great Thought
A couple of weeks ago our pastor shared (on a Wednesday night) a little thought on Thankfulness...
He said "turn in your Bibles with me to the book of Jonah,"
and he went on to read the story of Jonah and how he (Jonah) had disobeyed God so...God punished him by causing a great storm to come while Jonah was on the boat that was taking him in the opposite direction of Nineveh...
as you can imagine there was great havoc on the boat until Jonah said "I am the reason for this great storm...now throw me overboard!"
And so the other men did!
When thrown overboard God sent a great big whale to swallow Jonah up!
You may be wondering..."where is Maggie going with all of this"....well, stick with me I am almost to the point of this post! :-)
So... now we find Jonah in the belly of a great big whale;
can you imagine his surroundings?!?
And he spent three nights and three days in that belly until he cried out to God and said...
"But I will sacrifice to You
With the voice of Thanksgiving;
I will pay what I have vowed.
Salvation is of the Lord."
~Jonah 2:9
And after he became thankful to God,
God commanded the whale to spew Jonah out upon the sand which from there he went to Nineveh and told the people about the Lord!
So, where I am going with all of this is that sometimes we may be in a bad situation and maybe we are not having the
"Attitude of gratitude"
(as mom would say)
And just like Jonah, God will not change our circumstances until we change our attitudes and hearts towards Him!
It is my prayer that you have been blessed by this!
Shalom~
Maggie
